• GeekWire reports that Marie Donoghue, a vice president at Amazon who helped lead its sports streaming and video production arm, described in some circles as “one of the most powerful women in sports media,” is leaving the company. The story notes that Donoghue was instrumental in closing "a massive deal with the NFL to exclusively stream Thursday Night Football through 2033, as well as an array of other partnerships with teams and leagues' making her a key part of the effort to make Amazon Prime membership essential.
GeekWire also reports that "former Hulu and Disney exec Jeremy Helfand announced Thursday that he is joining Amazon to lead Prime Video Advertising.
Helfand landed at Hulu in 2018 as a vice president and later moved to an executive VP role overseeing Disney’s ad business. He joins Amazon just as the tech giant rolls out ads within its Prime streaming service."

I still think it is possible that one of the first things Helfand will have to do is defend's Amazon's unilateral decision to include ads on Prime Video offerings - unless you pay an extra three bucks a month - in court. Seems to me that they sort of changed the terms of existing contracts with users, which could leave them vulnerable to a class action suit.
More than that, I think Amazon should be concerned about the dilution of its brand. That's already happened on its main site, as ads and promotions have degraded the user experience, all for a buck; I tend to think that the same thing easily could happen over on the Prime Video side.
