Robbie Robertson, lead guitarist and songwriter with The Band, which gave us such classics as “The Weight,” “Up on Cripple Creek” and “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down," has passed away after a long illness. He was 80.

One of my favorite albums - ever - is "Before The Flood," which featured a live performance by Bob Dylan and The Band. I still listen to it in its entirety several times a year, and if for some reason you've never heard it, go download it. Now.
