New York Yankees pitcher Domingo Germán - a player so imperfect that he was suspended for 10 games this year for using illegal "sticky stuff" on his pitching hand, has been suspended for a total of 81 games in his career for violating the league’s domestic violence policy, and was hit hard in his two pervious starts - last night became just the 24th pitcher in Major League Baseball history to throw a perfect game. That means he faced the minimum 27 batters - no walks, no hits, no errors.
He also was the fourth Yankee pitcher to throw a perfect game, following Don Larsen (in the 1956 World Series), David Wells (1998) and David Cone (1999).
