Advertising Age reports that yesterday was the 15th anniversary of the first banner ad , which was on, the online offshoot of Wired magazine. According to the story, the four companies that availed themselves of the opportunity were MCI, Volvo, Club Med and 1-800-Collect.

Hard to believe that it only has been 15 seems like far longer.
