• Caribou Coffee announced that its chairman/CEO, Michael Coles, is stepping down after five years at the company. The company said that when Caribou’s owners moved the company from Atlanta to Minneapolis, Coles made the move with the understanding that it would only be for five years, at which point he would return to Atlanta.

That time has now come, and he will be succeeded as CEO on an interim basis by Rosalyn Mallet, Caribou’s current president/COO. Gary Graves, a Caribou board Member will assume the role of non-executive chairman.

• McDonald’s announced that Peter J. Bensen, its corporate controller, will succeed the retiring Matthew Paull as CFO.
