• Publix Super Markets announced that its third quarter sales were $5.6 billion, a 6.5 percent increase from last year’s $5.2 billion, with same-store sales up 4.5 percent. Q3 net earnings, however, were off 1.5 percent, down to $249 million compared to $252.9 million during the same period a year ago.
