• The United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) local representing some 11,000 Kroger employees in Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky and Dayton, Ohio, has informed the retailer that because negotiations have broken off, it is revoking a mutually agreed-upon contract extension. This means that the workers, who are looking for improved wages and health care benefits, could go on strike anytime after Friday.

• Kraft Foods said that it is raising the list prices on its ground and roast Maxwell House and Yuban coffees by approximately 10 cents per 11-13 ounces. Higher green coffee prices were cited as the reason.
