• In the UK, the Sunday Telegraph reports that the Chinese government is reaching out to multinational retailers operating within the country – Tesco, Metro, Carrefour and Wal-Mart – to try to stave off continuing criticisms of its safety protocols. It isn’t known exactly what Chinese officials are looking for, but it is known that they have been holding a series of meetings with senior executives from various retailers.
