Talk about reaching out to a new generation of employees…

In France, according to published reports, Auchan has decided to use Second Life – the virtual world that exist only in cyberspace – to recruit as many as 300 managers for the company. The retailer has erected more than 100 “billboards” in online zones that are frequently visited by Second Life users, which it hopes will funnel potential candidates to the company.
KC's View:
This is very smart. I just hope that Auchan is prepared for a different kind of employee, and is willing to indulge these new employees a bit. After all, they may not be traditional supermarket employees…though they may provide a unique window into a new generation of shoppers. Auchan should take advantage of this.
