The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Coca-Cola has decided to lay off some 125 US employees, mostly in Atlanta, as part of a reorganization effort of its north American division.
“The layoffs represent about 3.5 percent of Coca-Cola North America's 3,500 full-time, non-hourly U.S.-based employees,” the paper writes. “The layoffs are the first for Coke since 2003, when the company cut 1,000 jobs in Coke North America. Those followed 5,200 cuts that were made company-wide starting in 2000 after Coke reorganized its global operation.”
