Published reports in the UK say that Delta Two, the Qatari royal family's investment vehicle, would ask Tony Campbell – the former deputy CEO at Asda – to run Sainsbury if its $21 billion (US) offer for the company is accepted.

Delta Two already owns 25 percent of the company, though its interest in acquiring the whole thing has been challenged by at least one labor union which is questioning whether a company that is virtually a national icon should be owned by a foreign entity.
