The Korea Herald reports that about 20 major discounter store chains and department stores in that nation “plan to begin selling U.S. beef as of Aug. 9 and are now actively making orders to ensure they can meet an expected surge in demand.”
The meat is the first US beef imported by Korea since the government there banned it in the wake of mad cow disease reports back in December 2003.
