The BBC this morning reports that Bloomsbury, the UK publisher of the final Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Deathly hallows,” has decided not to ship a planned 500,000 copies of the novel to Wal-Mart’s Asda Group there, complaining that Asda has not paid its bills.

However, Asda replied that Bloomsbury was making the move because it has publicly criticized the publisher for raising the prices on the Potter books with every succeeding novel.

Both sides said they expected a resolution by the end of the week, but the clock is ticking – the book goes on sale at 12:01 a.m. Saturday.
