Kroger finally confirmed yesterday that which had been rumored for some time – that it would buy 20 Farmer Jack stores in Michigan from the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. (A&P), which is getting out of the market.
However, there remain 46 other Farmer Jack units that are, according to the Detroit Free Press, “in limbo.” Among those stores are the company’s metro Detroit units, which Kroger chose not to acquire.
