CNN reports that the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) union in California announced that “it will file a complaint with the National Labor Relations Board against Albertsons, accusing the supermarket chain of carrying out a campaign to intimidate its union workers ahead of a strike authorization vote.”
UFCW members employed by Albertsons voted over the weekend to authorize a strike against the company, though no date was set. The contract runs out beween the UFCW and Albertsons – as well as Safeway and Kroger – early next month.
