business news in context, analysis with attitude

A quick note from The Content Guy…

I’ve gotten a number of emails over the past few days about the cover story in the March issue of NACS Magazine the official publication of the National Association of Convenience Stores.

And yes, I must admit, that is me on the cover and throughout the eight-page spread, used to illustrate five ideas and challenges that I think are critical to the ongoing evolution of convenience stores – and maybe more importantly, convenient stores.

I’m a little sheepish about how much visibility the folks at NACS gave me, in part because I’d feel a lot better about myself if I looked like those guys who appear on the cover of Men’s Health. (While I know something about six packs, I have no familiarity with six-pack abs…)

That said, if you’re interested, NACS has made the story available to MNB users to read online. Just go to:

As always, I’ll be interested in your feedback and opinion on the conclusions I reached and the approach I took. After all, I wouldn’t know as much as I know about retailing and convenience issues without the ongoing education that you all have given me on an ongoing basis for the past five and a half years.

Sláinte!!
