• Weis Markets reports $577.6 million in fourth quarter sales, compared to $601.9 million for the same period a year ago. Adjusting for an extra week in the 2005 quarter, the company's fourth quarter sales increased 2.7 percent and its same-store sales increased 2.1 percent. Q4 net income totaled $14.0 million compared to $18.4 million for the same period in 2005.

Sales for the full fiscal year increased one percent to $2.2 billion, with same-store sales up two percent. Net income for the year was $56 million, compared to $63.4 million a year ago.

• The Coca-Cola Co. reports that its fourth quarter earnings were down 22 percent to $678 million, compared to a profit of $864 million for the same period a year ago. Revenue in the quarter rose seven percent to $5.93 billion, compared to $5.55 billion recorded in the same period a year ago.

For the full fiscal year, Coke posted earnings of $5.08 billion, compared to year-ago profit of $4.87 billion. Twelve-month revenue rose four percent to $24.09 billion, compared to $23.10 billion recorded in the previous year.

• NutriSystem Inc. – the weight loss company making a major splash with a series of television commercials – reported fourth quarter net income of $19.6 million, compared with $6.3 million in the same period a year earlier. Revenue came in at $133.6 million, up 92 percent from $69.6 million in the year-ago period.
