Published reports say that the New Hampshire legislature will be considering a bill that would ban trans fats from foods prepared in restaurants – and in supermarkets.

Rep. Jim Splaine, a sponsor of the bill, says that a ban will help to educate consumers about the health threat associated with artery-logging trans fats.

A similar bill – though one that does not mention supermarkets – has been approved in New York City, and more than a dozen other states reportedly are considering some kind of a ban on trans fats.
