Published reports say that Kentucky Fried Chicken is switching from a solid shortening to a liquid format that eliminates trans fats from its food offerings.

The move seems to be timed to comply with a proposal floated by the New York City Board of Health, which would require all of the city’s restaurants to virtually eliminate trans fats from their offerings.
