business news in context, analysis with attitude

Kroger’s Fred Meyer chain in the Pacific Northwest has announced that it will begin rolling out health clinics in a number of its stores, with the first to open this fall. The clinics will be operated by SmartCare Family Medical Centers.

At the same time, Price Chopper reportedly will open in-store health clinics, with these operations run by ProHealth Physicians.

And, add St. Louis-based Schnucks to the list of retailers installing in-store health care clinics as a way of providing basic and reasonable priced medical treatment for shoppers. The retailer is partnering with InstaClinic to open clinics in four of its Missouri stores sometime this autumn.
