The board of directors of the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) has approved the organization’s merger with the Food Products Association (FPA). Pending approval by the general memberships of both organizations, the merger will create a new, single organization as of January 2007.
The new association will be called GMA/FPA in 2007, and then will revert to just the GMA name in 2008. The organization’s president/CEO will be Cal Dooley, who has that role at FPA; GMA’s president/CEO, C. Manly Molpus, is retiring at the end of the year.
