The Financial Times reports that in advertisements for senior managers that Tesco is running on the west coast of the US – as it prepares to open new stores there early next year – the company says that a central responsibility is “for management of employee relations; maintaining non-union status and union avoidance activities.”
While FT says that the company has not formally said whether it wants a unionized or non-union workforce in the US, the company has now removed the anti-union language from its newest ads.
