Ahold’s Giant Food, based in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, reportedly is rolling out two new marketing programs: a “Guaranteed Value” private label brand that is designed to be lost-cost as anything on the market, and “Your Neighborhood Drugstore,” which seeks to position its HBC sections as having the same selection as local drugstores but at money-saving prices.

In other moves, Giant plans to add a special section to its drugstores, a Diabetic Center with a comprehensive selection of products needed by people with that medical condition. And, it will be adding a Staples office supply section to all its stores, and expanding its greeting card department.
