• Tesco reportedly plans to offer what it calls a mid-market range of clothing for women that will be more “aspirational” in nature that its current value offerings. The move is likely being developed to give it yet another weapon in its ongoing battle with Wal-Mart’s Asda Group, which has been extremely successful with its George clothing line.

• In its effort to expand its Ireland business operations, Tesco reportedly plans to spend more than $80 million (US) to build a 750,000 square foot north of Dublin. The move could allow the company to replace one or more of the five warehouses it now operates in the area.
