• Costco Wholesale Corp. announced December 2005 sales of $6.37 billion, up 10 percent from the $5.77 billion recorded during the same period a year ago. Same-store sales for the company were up seven percent, with US same-store sales up six percent and international same-store sales up eight percent.

For the first eighteen weeks of its fiscal year ended January 1, 2006, Costco reported net sales of $20.22 billion, an increase of 11 percent from $18.17 billion during the similar 18-week period of the prior fiscal year. Same-store sales for the company during the 18 weeks were up eight percent (eight percent in the US, and nine percent in its international stores).
