The Container Store, usually mentioned as one of the nation’s best places to work, is becoming an even better place for Melissa Reiff, the company’s executive vice president of stores and marketing.
Reiff has been promoted to the company’s presidency, succeeding co-founder Kip Tindell, who remains as CEO.
The Dallas Morning News notes that not only is Reiff the first president of the company who was not a founder, but she also reflects the general attitude toward women at the 28-year-old company, where the chief merchandising officer and six vice presidents are all female. In fact, the Morning News notes, “62 percent of the company's employees at its 36 stores nationwide are women.”
