The New York Times this morning reports that Bayer Consumer Care, looking to make its Alka-Seltzer product relevant to 2006 America, has worked with its BBDO Worldwide ad agency to come up with a new commercial: a recreation of its famous 1972 “I can’t believe I ate the whole thing” ad.
The big difference: this time, it will star Peter Boyle and Doris Roberts of “Everybody Loves Raymond” fame.
The move is the first of several possible commercial recreations timed to Alka-Seltzer’s 75th anniversary in 2006.
