• 7-Eleven has named Joseph M. DePinto, the company’s former vice president of operations, to be its new president/CEO, succeeding the retiring Jim Keyes. DePinto rejoins the company after a short stint as president of GameStop Corp., the video game and entertainment software retailer.

DePinto will report to Toshifumi Suzuki, chairman/CEO of Tokyo-based Seven-Eleven Japan Co. Ltd.


• Dollar General has hired Beryl Buley, a Former Mervyn's executive, to be its division president of merchandising and supply chain. He succeeds the retiring Stonie O'Briant.
