Massachusetts Attorney General Thomas Reilly reportedly has informed Whole Foods that if it opens its stores on Thanksgiving Day this Thursday, it will risk being charged with criminal violations of the state’s “blue laws.”

Whole Foods had planned to open its stores on Thanksgiving, but published reports say that Shaw’s Supermarkets filed a complaint and asked state officials to block the openings.

Whole Foods has agreed to keep its stores closed.
