  • UK-based retailer Marks & Spencer has reported first half sales that were the equivalent of $5.9 billion (US), down 0.2 percent from the same period a year ago. Gross profit, on the other hand, was up 27 percent to the equivalent of $655.8 million (US).


  • New Jersey-based Kings Super Markets, a division of Marks & Spencer, posted first-half profits of $4.2 million, up 62 percent from the same period a year ago. Revenues for the period were $190.7 million, up from $190.2 million a year ago.
