business news in context, analysis with attitude

  • The Associated Press reports that about 250 current and former employees from some 40 central Florida Wal-Mart stores have formed an association that they plan to use to “collectively air complaints about what they claim is shoddy treatment by the retail giant.”

The group is careful to emphasize that the association is not a union, lest such a designation create antipathy among other employees and their employer. But the group does seem to be gaining some momentum, attracting from 15 to 20 new members each week.
