- Food Lion has promoted Cathy Green to chief operating office, with responsibility for the chain’s retail operations, merchandising, marketing, and distribution network. She reports to Food Lion President and CEO Rick Anicetti.
Prior to being named COO, Green served Food Lion as senior vice of retail operations-north, during which she oversaw all aspects of Food Lion’s retail operations in the company’s Northern and Atlantic divisions; she also has been the company’s senior vice president of fresh merchandising, distribution, and quality assurance.
- Wendy’s president Tom Mueller resigned yesterday, citing personal reasons. Company chairman/CEO Jack Schuessler will assume the president's job on an interim basis.
