- Ahold-owned Peapod, the Internet grocery provider, announced that it is expanding service to a number of new communities in western Connecticut and southeastern New York. The towns include New Milford, New Fairfield and Brookfield in Connecticut, and Brewster, Carmel, Mahopac and Somers in New York.
Peapod, which boasts more than seven million deliveries since it was founded 15 years ago, serves 15 U.S. markets including the metro areas of Chicago, Boston, Long Island and Washington, D.C., and communities in the states of Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Virginia and Rhode Island.
