- Starbucks reported third quarter earnings of $125.6 million, up almost 30 percent from $97.6 million in the same period a year earlier. Revenue climbed 21 percent to $1.6 billion, up from $1.3 billion in the third quarter of 2004.
- Anheuser-Busch reported that its second quarter net income fell to $607 million, from $673.5 million in the year-earlier period. Sales were nearly flat at $4.02 billion, compared with $4.01 billion a year earlier.
- Kellogg Co. reported that its second quarter net income rose to $259 million, from $237.4 million a year ago. Sales grew eight percent to $2.59 billion from $2.39 billion last year.
