On the same day, NY Governor George Pataki signed the same legislation allowing direct shipments to and from the Empire State.

- These moves also stand out in comparison to the moves by Michigan lawmakers, who from all reports appear ready to re-enact Prohibition rather than allow direct shipping that might help the state’s wineries even while allowing direct shipping into the state.
