As part of the reorganization taking place at Wal-Mart’s Asda Group in the UK, the company announced that David Cheesewright, who has been serving as COO at Wal-Mart Canada, will return to Asda as COO and Trading Director.
In addition, Any Clarke, who used to be a Retail Director at Asda before moving to other UK retailing companies such as Iceland and Matalan, will return to Asda in his old job.
And Angela Spindler, who has been serving as Asda’s Trading and Marketing Director, has been promoted to the new position of Customer & Strategy Director.
The company announced earlier this week that, faced with a declining market share, it would lay off 200 headquarters staffers and 1200 store-level managers.
