CVS Corp. reportedly has begun selling a disposable digital camcorder – it costs $29.99, weighs less than five ounces and holds 20 minutes worth of video. After using the camcorder, consumers return the camera to CVS, at which point the contents are transferred to a DVD and returned to the customer.
CVS is hoping that the new product will bolster its photo lab business.
The disposable camcorder is available at some 1,400 CVS units and will shortly be available at all 4,500 of its drugstores – and eventually will be available elsewhere as well.
