- Wild Oats posted a first quarter loss of $1.2 million, compared with net income of $2.1 million in the prior year. Net sales increased 5 percent to $278.1 million from $263.8 million in 2004. Same-store sales were off 0.3 percent.
- Ingles Foods reported that its second quarter net sales were $557 million, up from $521 million during the same period last year. Net income for the quarter was $5.5 million compared with $7.2 million a year earlier, a drop that the company ascribed to increased promotional activity.
