business news in context, analysis with attitude

Next Monday and Tuesday, April 4-5, Western Michigan University will present its 40th annual Food Marketing Conference, featuring its usual roster of outstanding speakers, including Larry Zigerelli, president/COO of Meijer Stores, speaking about “Transforming an organization to Compete in a Land of Retail Giants”; Michael Sansolo, senior vp of the Food Marketing Institute, leading a panel discussion about what makes certain companies the best places to work; and author Charles Coonradt about “The Game of Work” and how to create a winning workplace environment.

We’re thrilled to be playing a role at this year’s WMU conference -moderating a Tuesday morning panel on generational marketing, and how retailing has to change in order to be relevant to the customer of the future (not to mention the employee of the future).

And here’s a bonus: Monday night, we plan to get together with a number of our Michigan friends to open a few bottles of wine…and if you’re in the neighborhood, you’re invited. The wine party will be taking place in the same hotel as the conference: the Radisson Plaza Hotel in Kalamazoo, Michigan….we’re not sure exactly in what room…but it should be easy to find us. (It’ll be the room where everybody is having a good time!)

By the way, it isn’t too late to find out more about the WMU Food Marketing Conference, and even make plans to attend. Just go to:
