business news in context, analysis with attitude

Fast food chain Wendy’s saw its sales in Northern California decline sharply when a woman in the area claimed she found part of a human finger in a bowl of chili purchased from one of its franchises.

Authorities have not determined who the finger belonged to, nor whether the finger was cooked into the chili or added afterwards.

However, analysts said they don’t expect the chain to suffer broader long-term effects from the claim.
