- Canada’s Report on Business magazine has named Wal-Mart as the best retailer in Canada to work, the third time in four years that the company has achieved that distinction. Wal-Mart also was named the eighth best place to work in Canada overall, up from 14th place last year.
The ranking is based on a survey of employees as well as a review of human resources policies, according to the magazine.
The ranking comes as Wal-Mart faces unionization movements in several of the Canadian markets where it has stores, and criticism of how it treats employees there.
