  • Rite Aid reported third quarter sales of $4.1 billion, flat compared to the same period a year ago. Same store sales were up 0.2 percent.

    Net income for the quarter was $1.0 million, compared to last year's third quarter net income of $73.6 million.


  • Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. missed a second deadline in week when it failed to file its quarterly results with the US Securities and exchange Commission (SEC). The filing originally was due last week, but the SEC gave the company a five.

    However, the company also is saying that its own internal investigation has revealed that nobody in the company did anything illegal or improper in its accounting practices or the acquisition of franchisees.
