The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Michigan is offering a substantial package of tax credits to convince Kmart to keep its headquarters in the state - $44.7 million in tax credits and a $750,000 grant to train employees. However, the package is dependent on the company retaining 1,500 jobs at an average salary of $70,000 a year.
