The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that Kroger and the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) have reached a tentative contract agreement that will be voted on by union members later this week.
The contract agreement came after a 16-hour marathon negotiating session held over the weekend. The old contract expired on October 9, but was extended twice. The union had authorized a strike, but none was called.
While neither side would discuss specifics of the deal, sources told the paper that the contract included hourly wage increases and bonuses, and increased cost sharing between employees and the company on health care.
