The BBC reports that UK retailer Tesco plans to move 420 “business support” jobs to India from the UK, saying the move will allow it to cut costs.

Tesco management said that it would offer the people holding the jobs in the UK “alternative roles” as long as they are flexible.
KC's View:
We can see this becoming a broader retailing trend, and we have to say that we think it is a bad idea. There will be scads of economists who will disagree, and it probably is inevitable that this will happen in a global economy, but it is a trend that we find extremely worrisome.
