The US House of Representatives has passed the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act, which will require manufacturers to change their labeling practices and list ingredients, including the allergic reactions they can trigger, in plain English. The US Senate already has passed the same bill, and President Bush is expected to sign it into law.
