  • Fleming reportedly has resolved a dispute with former employees in Wisconsin, who had charged that the company violated state law by not informing them of a plant closing in a timely fashion. The settlement – which will award compensation to some 2,700 former employees - now has to be approved by the bankruptcy court overseeing the company’s reorganization.


  • Supervalu reportedly is looking at “a handful of sites” for its Save-A-Lot limited assortment stores in Pittsburgh, believing that the market’s urban areas are ripe for small, lean grocery stores.


  • Foodservice giant Sysco Corp. has acquired Florida-based International Food Group Inc., which supplies products to quick service restaurants in the Caribbean, Central America, South America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
