In a low-carb world, there remains at least some evidence that old-fashioned pleasures such as chocolate still can arouse passions in some consumers.

The Washington Post, for example, reports that not only are specialty stores stocking an increasingly broad assortment of chocolates, but that “chocolate tastings” – along the same line as wine tastings – are beginning to gain in popularity.

And there also are published reports that Hershey plans to open a flagship store on Michigan Avenue in Chicago, similar to one that already exists in New York’s Times Square.
