- Canada's Alimentation Couche-Tard, which operates more than two thousand convenience stores in the US, posted a third quarter net income that was the equivalent of $6.61 million (US), down 38 percent from a year ago. Sales for the period were up 6.9 percent.
The reasons for the drop in profit were cited as less profitable gasoline sales and the fiscal pressures of the company's acquisition of Circle K in the US last year.
