The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that local retailers best Buy and Target, as well as wholesaler Supervalu, are participating in a Twin Cities Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) interest group that meets regularly to explore the implications of the technology on their businesses.
In addition, both Target and best Buy reportedly are testing RFID in distribution centers and stores, though Target won't confirm that fact. Best Buy, on the other hand, says it is "actively investigating the benefits of the RFID technology."
